Might be tricky depending on the config tools/files.

Numeric logins are generally to be avoided because there are _many_ tools
that accept a uid (internal UNIX user id) or a login for convenience in
the same field, distinguished because uids are numeric and logins aren't.
In a former life we used to just present the student ids with an "s",
thus:

        s1234567

See if you can do this. It may save you a lot of pain later.
