Bruce: I did a ftp install recently and what is needed is one parent directory of:
/RedHat and 2 sub directories of /RedHat/RPMS and /RedHat/base So I would just create a path of /home/myusername/RedHat/RPMS and /home/myusername/RedHat/base Cd #1 has all the base files to copy under /RedHat/base and then copy all the RPMS from the 3 Cd's to one /home/myusername/RedHat/RPMS file. I did not find any overwritten files when copying the files in this manner. Then use your bootnet.img floppy that I assume you made to connect to that server via ftp or however you wish and start you installation. Hope this helps, Eddie Stohmier > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:redhat-list-admin@;redhat.com] On Behalf Of Bruce Douglas > Sent: Wednesday, November 06, 2002 11:21 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: installing redhat 8.0 from a network via ftp/http > > > hi... > > a quick question. when copying the files from the cds to the > disk for install via ftp/http, should i copy all the files > from all 3 cds to the same folder or to differnet folders in > the same directory??? i can't find any documentation that is > explicit in whic way to do it. copying the files to the same > folder results in some files being overwritten. > > thanks > > bruce > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > > > -- > redhat-list mailing list > unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@;redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list > -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@;redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
