Hmm... on my box (RH 7.2 SMP), rpm -q --whatrequires glibc returns: timeconfig-3.2.2-1 authconfig-4.1.19.2-1 ppp-2.4.1-3 kdenetwork-2.2.2-1 glibc-devel-2.2.4-30 There doesn't seem to be a kernel-live-module that requires glibc. That also makes sense, IMHO. As it seems the kernel modules are statically linked to allow a replacement of glibc to a newer version without grounding the kernel.
