Hi,

I have a big problem with my RH7.2. It will not reboot. It always
hangs after the following line:

        Setting hostname mycomputer.mydomain.com:     [OK]

I tried to boot in single user mode without success. However, I can boot
the system with the emergency mode. Now, how I can recover the system?

I did the following:
1.
        #cat /etc/fstab
        LABEL=/       /            ext3      defaults                1 1
        LABEL=/boot   /boot        ext3      defaults                1 2
        none          /dev/pts     devpts    gid=5,mode=620          0 0
        none          /proc        proc      defaults                0 0
        none          /dev/shm     tmpfs     defaults                0 0
        /dev/hda4     swap         swap      defaults                0 0
        /dev/cdrom    /mnt/cdrom   iso9660   noauto,owner,kudzu,r0   0 0

2.
        #fsck /dev/hda2
        Parallelizing fsck versions 1.23 (15-Aug-2001)
        Couldn't open /proc/partitions! No such file or directory
        Is /proc mounted?

3.
        #e2fsck /dev/hda2
        e2fsck 1.23, 15-Aug-2001 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
        /dev/hda2 is mounted.
        WARNING!!! Running e2fsck on a mounted filesystem may cause
        SEVERE filesystem damage.
        Do you really want to continue (y/n)? no
        Check aborted.

I will appreciate, if someone can help me. Thanks.
