I've got a RH8 System, kernel 2.4.18-14, with 1 gig
RAM, dual 80 gig hds, running RH software RAID, a
Seagate tape drive and a Sony IDE CD-RW drive.

I can't burn a CD.

I've swapped CD burners, changed location on the IDE
chain, verified ide-scsi is loading. A roughtly
similar system is installed at home and works fine.
The HD there is SCSI tho, most major difference.

This is a snippet of what I beleive is the most
relevat log message:

Oct 27 09:40:10 goliath kernel: cdrom: This disc
doesn't have any tracks I recognize!
Oct 27 09:40:32 goliath modprobe: modprobe: Can't
locate module char-major-97

940) timed out - resetting
Oct 27 09:41:43 goliath kernel: SCSI bus is being
reset for host 0 channel 0.

That message is roughly repeated about 20 or so times,
and then this:

Oct 27 09:41:56 goliath kernel: SCSI host 0 abort (pid
940) timed out - resetting
Oct 27 09:41:56 goliath kernel: SCSI bus is being
reset for host 0 channel 0.

Oct 27 09:42:26 goliath kernel: isofs_read_super:
bread failed, dev=0b:00, iso_blknum=16, block=16

I've googled on all variations of this, and what I've
found hasn't been relevant or when it looked relevant,
what was thought to be my problem wasn't.

Any ideas?

Thanks. Other than that, using RH8 and loving it!!
