After adding the rule, run:
% ipchains-save > /etc/sysconfig/ipchains
saving the original /etc/sysconfig/ipchains file before overwriting it of course ;-)

This file gets read by ipchains-restore when /etc/init.d/ipchains (in whatever rc[n].d 
level on your m/c) starts up after reboot.
