Hi all, my rh7.1 mailserver is behind a redhat 7.3 firewall. receiving email is fine, sending...er not..i/o errors timeouts and deffered connections. I have a box offsite, that I've specified to use as a relay and try to alleviate the problem. This has not helped either.
Oct 24 12:06:22 sa sendmail[6389]: g9O1ioC06386: to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, delay=00:21:29, xdelay=00:21:29, mailer=relay, pri=34584, relay=the.mailserver.net. [203.16.22.34], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection timed out with the.mailserver.net. I've used the following send -watch -verbose draft.txt It gets stuck straight after the DATA command. ironically, if I simply telnet to any mail server at all, from my firewalled box, I can send without problems. There isn't a dns issue or routing that i know of... all other services are fine from the mailserver. squid runs on the gateway/firewall and works excellently. i reckon it might be one of the myriad of 250's it sends after EHLO 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-8BITMIME 250-SIZE 250-DSN 250-ONEX 250-ETRN 250-XUSR 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN Perhaps any of these are causing it to just stop. I thought that maybe iptables might not be correctly routing traffic to/from the mailserver... any ideas? -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@;redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
