When I first installed RH7.3, it installed the regular kernel packages and the -smp kernel (I selected it during the installation). Once the system rebooted, I started removing things I didn't need - one of those was the regular kernel package and source. This machine has dual CPU's and I', only going to use an smp kernel on it. The system works fine with the smp kernel and I'm not having any problems with it. However, when I look in the /boot directory, I see the following broken links:
module-info -> module-info-2.4.18-10 vmlinuz -> vmlinuz-2.4.18-10 Those two files no longer exist after removing the regular kernel package. However, I do have these (files): module-info-2.4.18-3smp vmlinuz-2.4.18-3smp Should I just go ahead and re-link the 'module-info' and 'vmlinuz' files to these ones? Or does it not matter since Grub knows to pick up the actual file, and not the softlink? -- W | I haven't lost my mind; it's backed up on tape somewhere. +-------------------------------------------------------------------- Ashley M.
