Only if you tell the ipchains/tables to log.  By default I don't think it
does.

I'm running Redhat 7.2/7.3 and in my /etc/sysconfig/ipchains file I have
added --log to the end of each rule.  This will when restarted write your
firewall logs to /var/log/messages.

Don't know about 8.0.  Probably has the same mechanism.

If not what log file do I need to check to watch
