Zaurus 5500 on Redhat 8.0

Has anyone been able to use the Zaurus 5500 with RedHat 8.0, and if so, how?

When I connect it via USB I get the following:

Oct 19 12:38:21 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: NET unregister event not supported

According to the kernel there is no eth2 device when I attempt to do ifconfig ....
