My RedHat 7.2 was working very fine, no problem during booting. By the way,
I boot it with a boot disk.
But recently I was force to "renistall it" because when I installed windows
2000, the booting of RedHat was unable to find the initialization file.
Now the "new" RedHat 7.2 is working "fine" but during the boot time it fail
to activate the interface eth0. I see this message:
"Activating interfaz eth0..........(it looks for something during almost 1
minute)....Determining the information IP for eth0 FAILED". Then the
booting process goes well.

Using the configuration network utility I found that the following
information is registered:
-Host: IP 127.0.0.1, Name localhost.localdomain, Alias localhost.
-Hardware: Description RTL8139,SMC EZ Card Fast Ethernet Type Ethernet
Disp eth0
- Dispositivo: eth0 Ethernet

My network card is Fast Ethernet Realtek RTL8139(a).

To me, the system has detected my card and assigned the IP. Then my
question is: WHY DURING THE BOOT TIME THE SYSTEM DOES NOT FIND THE IP?

Anyone can tell me why and how it can be fixed?

Thank for your answer
