Midnight Commander is useless because of character display problems with RH 8.0 when run under Konsole.
The export LANG=c, etc doesn't do a thing to fix the problem. However if I run under xterm it works fine. I also have the same problem with the local console, make menuconfig, and midnight commander are not really usable. This happen both locally and remotely.
