I am having a whole lot of trouble trying to get my HP5550 printer to
work with Linux. Works just fine on Windows, so I know it's not the
printer. It is supposed to work "perfectly" according to linuxprinting.org.

It took awhile, but I managed to get HPIJS, Ghostscript and Foomatic
updated and seemingly happy. When I run the print-gui, it recognizes
that the printer is a usb and the printer is listed under the HP
drivers. I can select it just fine. What it won't do is print a test
page. It says there is an error. Exactly what error it doesn't want to
tell me.

How do I find out just what is causing the problem and how do I fix it?
