I've recently obtained a Dell Inspiron 8200 which I would like to get KDE up and running on. I currently have Red Hat 8 installed without flaw. It detects my GeForce 4 Go card, but does not detect my monitor. No matter what monitor I select from the Dell laptop list, nothing works. The 'Generic' monitor option works but it sticks to a 800x600 resolution which is simply NOT an option. I've found out that NVIDIA does offer drivers for Linux 7.3 and above, with some pretty reasonable install details. However, as migrating user from FreeBSD, I have NO idea how RPM works. I understand ports/packages from FreeBSD very well and its extremely easy, but my RPM attempts don't seem to work.
Here are the NVIDIA links: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_display_1.0-3123 http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86_40/1.0-3123/README If someone could help me get this running it would be greatly appreciated. ~ MET -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
