Hi everyone,
after upgrading to Red Hat 8.0 my CUPS printers don't work anymore if I want to print stuff from KDE applications. From console I can use the lpr command to print out files successfully. Also the "Print Test Page" Button from the CUPS browser admin tool doesn't print anything - a new job is generated, spooled, processed and nothing happens then... I also tried to use the new Red Hat tools to switch vom CUPS to LPRng and back to CUPS - without success. It seems (according to the /var/log/cups/error.log) that the printing fails somewhere in the CUPS backend... for example the last lines: I [08/Oct/2002:13:29:18 +0200] Job 663 queued on 'laserjet' by 'talex'. I [08/Oct/2002:13:29:18 +0200] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID 1831) for job 663. I [08/Oct/2002:13:29:18 +0200] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster (PID 1832) for job 663. I [08/Oct/2002:13:29:18 +0200] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertoturboprint (PID 1833) for job 663. I [08/Oct/2002:13:29:18 +0200] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel (PID 1834) for job 663. I also tried to reinstall my Turboprint drivers - no success... It works from console so I think the root of the troubles is somewhere in KDE/CUPS (although I cannot print any test pages neither from KDE CUPS admintool nor from the CUPS web interface...?) I hope, you have any idea... I don't... :-( cu talex -- Don't Fear the Penguin... <o) /\\ > http://www.cocktaildreams.de _\_v -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
