Open your favorite terminal emulator and use the command:

xdpyinfo | less

That command will show you the resolution, color depth, and a bunch of
other tidbits of X information

Subject: Find screen resolution and depth

Hi,
A quick question. How do I find out what is my screen resolution and
depth
that I am using? I went through file /etc/x11/XF86Config but did not see

anything obvious. I don't really want to run Xconfigurator since I went
through a lot of trouble with my monitor and video card to get it
working
when I first installed.

Thanks a lot.
