I wish to "use Thread;" in Perl but I have found that the Redhat Perl distrubion does not include thread support. It has thread.h and thread.ph included in the file list though. I know threads were considered experimental in 5.6.1 but I was wondering if there was any way to add thread support to the existing RPM installation (perl-5.6.1-34.99.6). If I attempt to use CPAN it wants me to install Perl 5.8.0 which I do not want to do so I can maintain RPM dependencies. Otherwise, are there plans to include threads in the Perl RPM in the future with say Perl 5.8.0 ?
