Hi all, I have a simple question (hopefully!) regarding backups!
I have a Red Hat box with a large capacity IDE tape drive, all working and backing up data. If I wanted to back up the entire system as well, as Linux has no problems with open files and the like, I envisage very few problems backing up the system as well! However, I'm not sure about the restore procedure! Would it be as simple as building a new base Red Hat system, and then just restoring all the files over the top of this new installation? Or is it a (windoze-style!) far more complicated scenario than that? many thanks for any help! Regards, Greg Conway.
