Could someone tell me why even though I change the ro option for /dev/cdrom in fstab to rw (to signify that I
have a CD-RW and/or a DVD-R) when I reboot and look back at fstab,
it has ro back on it. I am logged in as root when
changing. Also, I have the following in modules.conf: options ide-cd “ignore=hdc” alias scd0 sr_mod pre-install sg modprobe ide-scsi pre-install sr_mod modprobe ide-scsi pre-install ide-scsi modprobe ide-cd I also ln –s /dev/scd0 /dev/cdrom , but when I reboot /dev/cdrom
is linked back to /dev/hdc I am loading from GRUB and not LILO, that
is why I have the entries in modules.conf. It is as
though the “ignore” is not working, eh?? So are these related problems? Has anyone else experienced
this situation? Thanks in advance Jayson |
