If you had a boot disk of your linux partition things would be real
easy. You can now do the following:

1) make a boot disk on another system (linux) if you have access to.
Boot from it using 'linux root=/dev/partitionWhereLinixIs'

2) Edit "boot.ini". I don't remember the exaxt syntax but its easy.
Simply add in a new line for the linux partition similar to the one you
already have for windows.

Subject: dual booting problem of W2k and linux

Hi all,

I had NT and linux both installed on my box. After i upgrade NT to W2k
(after formatting windows partion using NTFS), I dont have the linux
boot
option available anymore though I know the linux partion is still there.

Does anyone know how I can get the dual booting option back? Instead of
reinstalling linux, is there any commercial software for that or any way
to
modify boot.ini or other system files?

TIA
