Properly done, snapshots hardly take any space.  What you need to
snapshot is the bitmap, and then only make a copy of changed blocks.
That's the way it's done on things like a NetApp Filer.  When you
install a new driver, perhaps you only need a meg or two of backup files
- everything else stays the same.
