If you don't need any fancy features from your printers (double-sided, etc), then you might try using the HP 5/5M Postscript driver on the Winboxes and configure Linux to use Postscript too. Most HP LaserJet printers support Postscript, even though that fact is not always easy to find in the docs. This will put most of the processing work on the Winboxes. You might even try the "Raw Print Queue" driver on Linux. That will send the data from the Winboxes to the printer unfiltered. But that would mean any local printjobs would have to be processed by the application before sending them to the printer. Most Linux applications output plaintext or Postscript, so that may not be a problem for you. Tony - -- Anthony E.
