Hi, I have recently installed rh7.3 (and have little experience with Linux!), but I need to downgrade ImageMagick to version 4.2.9 (for the Typo3 CMS).
I've actually done this...and re-installed 4.2.9 using an rpm...but the install is not working properly. I now understand that I need a lib file libbz2.so.0...this is from an older version of bzip2, which I have, but I can't install it because I already have bzip2 1.0.2 installed. This may be causing the problem. What I really need to do is uninstall both IM & bzip2, & then install bzip2 (old version), and IM from a tar that I have. I am worried about uninstalling bzip2 1.0.2, because there seem to be so many other packages dependant on it. Will they work with the earlier version...or is there a way to install another version to a different location so they won't conflict...I've tried using rpm, but the dependency check says that my earlier version will conflict. Can someone give me some advice on how to proceed?
