You shouldn't have _any_ mail going to root. While there is not really a lot of e-mail based virii available for Linux, it is considered good practice to ensure that nothing comes from an outside source to your root account. Obviously the invidual in charge of the machine usually has (and should) a seperate account for their regular usage, so you should have all mail for root sent to that address. It is as simple as putting a new alias in /etc/aliases and running newaliases.
