Shyam, you're best bet since you don't know IPTables is to turn off IPChains in the service GUI and download Firestarter (http://firestarter.sourceforge.net) and install it. Firestarter will write your IPTables for you and save them in /etc/firestarter. You can learn how to write your own rules by looking through the firestarter files.
