I'm writing a serial application that connects to another one through a null-modem cable. I want to run both on the same system while I'm developing it, but don't want to have to tie up my serial ports with a null-modem cable. Is there any kind of tty-like device under Linux which would be software-only (not tied to hardware) but where one is the null-modem output of the other? Is there anything similar, but with straight-through instead of null-modem?
