Linus here is what I get when I "tail -f /var/log/messages", then do the plug/unplug routine: ...kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device 2 ...kernel: usb.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 3
At this time my Redhat maching is not connected to the internet so I am writing down and then typing the responses, so there may be some small mistakes. I noticed that someone else on the list just replaced his compact reader with a ScanDisk Imagemate, and on reboot everything worked, perhaps that is my future.
