The most easy and dirty way is with pop3-before-smtp.
In order to use the relaying a customer has to make a valid pop3 session.
Then the system
"gets" his IP and puts it for a temporary period in the relay database.

Unfortunately I have practice in running Sendmail & Qmail with SMTP AUTH,
but not Postfix.
