I am having troubles trying to get a USB mouse work. I am running Red Hat Linux 7.3 on a Sony Vaio PCG-FX220. USB didn't work but I managed to recompile the kernel and USB seems to be working fine. I had to patch pci-irq.c (thanks to www.pm.waw.pl/~jslupski/vaio/) When I boot I noticed that the USB mouse is recognized, during the system messages befor logging in, it recognizes my MS IntelliMouse with IntelliEye USB mouse. The problem is that when I run mouseconfig as root and choose MS Intellimouse USB from the menu, I can't startx anymore, sth's wrong with the mouse. The touchpad's recognized as a PS/2 3 button mouse and it works great.
Sooooo, can you please help me, what can I do to get this USB mouse to work? Also, is it possible to have the touchpad and USB mouse working at the same time? I sure hope so, after all, if Windowz can do it ... right? Thanks for your help, Pablo. Ahora podés usar Yahoo! Messenger desde tu celular. Aprendé cómo hacerlo en Yahoo!
