Try altering your modules.conf file, I just had this same issue and that
seemed to do the trick.  Also becareful if you are using Linuxconf as it may
overwrite these settings even though you changed them in the config file, (I
had this issue as well)..  I think the file is in /etc... If it isnt then
just change to root directory "cd /" and run a search for the file "find
-name modules.conf | more "  and that should tell you where the file is...
Inside the file you can comment out the Eth interface you dont want to load
at boot...  Let me know if you need anymore help, I will be able to do more
from home later tonight if needed...
