Hey there, I've got 7.2 with named running. In the LogWatch I get a couple times a day (or once a day), I've been noticing lately some weird activity under the 'named' section of the log..here's what I keep seeing:
**Unmatched Entries** lame server resolving '96.228.162.66.in-addr.arpa' (in '228.162.66.in-addr.arpa'?): 216.136.95.2#53: 4 Time(s) lame server resolving '96.228.162.66.in-addr.arpa' (in '228.162.66.in-addr.arpa'?): 64.132.94.250#53: 4 Time(s) lame server resolving 'cpe-203-45-228-68.qld.bigpond.net.au' (in 'qld.BIGPOND.NET.AU'?): 61.9.128--More-- .13#53: 1 Time(s) lame server resolving 'cpe-203-45-228-68.qld.bigpond.net.au' (in 'qld.BIGPOND.NET.AU'?): 61.9.128.16#53: 1 Time(s) lame server resolving 'cpe-203-45-228-68.qld.bigpond.net.au' (in 'qld.BIGPOND.NET.AU'?): 61.9.192.13#53: 1 Time(s) lame server resolving 'm1-1a076.neo.rr.com' (in 'neo.RR.com'?): 65.24.0.168#53: 1 Time(s) lame server resolving 'm1-1a076.neo.rr.com' (in 'neo.RR.com'?): 65.24.0.169#53: 1 Time(s) My main question is the 'lame server' part...the name of my machine isn't 'lame', so I'm not sure what's going on (ie: if someone is trying to break in, broke in, etc..) I don't think this really happened until recently..and a lot of the names it resolves seem to be from Austrailia.
