I have setup samba as a domain controller (I am new to this), but I cannot
seem to get my windows machines to connect to it. First, I am in the process
of setting up a private network that is already run off of a windows network
(our IP block is currently served by an NT server). Second, I have all win
2000 machines except for one XP professional machine. Finally, I have tried
several times to join the ohioprincipals.org domain with no luck, each time
I am told that a domain controller could not be found. I am using
ohioprincipals.org as the domain for our new network (our domain in use now
is called ADMINISTRATION) is this ok should I have the .org? Could the
problem be that our IP block already has a domain controller on it? Do I
need some kind of logon scripts and if so do I create them or are they
alreay somewhere?
I have tried everything and would really be grateful if someone could help
or at least point me to some SAMBA as a domain controller reading material.
Thanks in advance.
