It looks to me that the IDE chipset in that machine is not fully supported.

I would say the first thing to do is to disable the DMA support while still
in 7.2 and reboot to see if those errors go away. You may also have to
disable it in the BIOS as well. If they do, I would then say go ahead and
try the install again.

To change the hard drive settings use hdparm (man pages are available).

If it's a driver issue with the chipset (which it really looks like) then
unless they have a magic kernel it will likely continue.
