Have you tried downloading the initscript update for 7.2? Use another PC
and download it to a floppy disk, then apply the update and try
netconfig on the console or edit the ifcfg-eth0 file.

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 

Heres what mine looks like:

DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.1.7
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
