Hi folks,

I want to migrate my Linux System (incl. / and /boot) to a new scsi disk.

My idea of doing this is the following :

1) make the new scsi-adapter and the new disk available on the old system.
2) set up a raid 1 (softwareraid with raidtools) via a floppy or CD system.
3) make a sync and split the mirror (I don`t need the mirror after migration
anymore)
4) chroot to /mnt/<newrootdisk> and make all changes in lilo.conf
5) boot from the new drive

Has anyone experience with that ?
Is it necessary to make a resize2fs of the new disk (partitions) because of
the superblock ?

...and is there a way to change the new disk (/dev/sdb) to /dev/sda after
removing the old sda ?

Mybe someone has a better idea of doing all that ?

Thank you for your help.
