If you are using a hardware RAID controller (and it appears that you are) then the operating system will show you only one drive. The multiple drives and RAID (mirroring in your case) will be handled by the controller card and the OS will be ignorant to the fact that this is happening. I don't know if there are drivers for that card but if there are, you'll want to load them so that the OS gets feedback for drive failures. If not, it will still function just fine and I *think* that the Dell card has an audible alarm for failures. In short, treat the machine as though it has one big drive, partition it to suit, then install Linux. Ignore all of the RAID settings during partitioning because they are for those doing software RAID using a standard controller card.
