I like to put Apache's DocumentRoot on /home to simplify backups and
upgrades, so that's always a separate partition. I haven't used anaymous
fTP in a while, but I believe it defaults to /home/ftp, so /home should be
big enough to hold all the FTP data and your web pages and scripts.

If you are going to allow users to post personal web pages, they will need
space under /home too.

I always create a partition for /usr/local to hold locally compiled
software and custom scripts I create for administration.

Putting /usr/local and /home on their own partitions makes it easy to
upgrade/reinstall without losing critical data.

Depending on the amount of mail you intend to process, you might consider
a partition for /var. That way if it fills up the machine won't crash.

The /boot partiton doesn't need to be any bigger than 20MB unless you want
to compile multiple kernels. Swap should be at least 2x RAM. 800MB for
/usr/local should be plenty and will allow you to compile software that is
not available as an RPM. The /var and /home partitions sizes depend on how
much space you think you will need for mail, logs, (/var), web pages, and
FTP data files (/home).
