Gerry, thanks for the ideas. I am by no means a sendmail guru, but it has
always been my understanding that "/etc/mail/sendmail.mc" was created as a
means for mortals to interact with the sendmail configuration file.

To me, sendmail.cf has always been likened to "line noise", but the few
things I have had to do with sendmail configurations always worked
flawlessly by editing the beast directly.

But not impossible, right? ;)

I have yet to have previous configurations blow-up (touch wood) after an
upgrade, but as I mentioned previously my experience with sendmail is not
extensive. I would be interested in real-world examples of how editing
sendmail.cf "bit" someone.

Finally, I would like to add I am not disputing your advise Gerry. I am
only searching for additional knowledge. ;)

Cheers,
William
