I am running Redhat 7.2 and I have a problem. I am dual-booting the system with Windows 98 and I wish to be able to share file (like Netscape mail files and bookmarks, etc) with the Windows partition. I have created a directory "/mnt/windows" and then I mount the windows partition (/dev/hda1) on the mount point. Since the mount point was created by root, it has rwxr--r-- permissions. To allow Netcape, under my own user permissions to access it, I changed the permission on the Netscape mail directories to "rwxrwxrwx". But when I check the permissions, there are unchanged? Any work arounds? Thanks.
