cdrom problems

My cdroms are ide drives one a slave to the hard drive and one is with a superdisk They are seen as scsi drives. can't mount them can eject the trays. Was able to install rh 7.2 but thats it. I also tried sndconfig for sound the right driver wasn't there but was able to get the driver on the desk top. Can find the other driver to put it in the same folder.   William
