Rather long boot times...  A couple of years ago I decided to compare
boot times on BeOS 4.5, Win2k, and RHL on a dual Celeron 333.

BeOS had a desktop up in 15 seconds.
Win2k had me to the "hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to log in" prompt in 45 seconds.
RHL had given me the GDM login, I'd logged in, and GNOME had finished
starting in 45 seconds.

BeOS was clearly the fastest by a long shot, and Win2k was the slowest
by a good deal.

Just thought I'd chime in since everyone else has  :)
