Not if you know how to use ipchains.

Actually, I use a more easily maintained script saved elswhere my box. The
script does several useful things, like parse the IP addresses of the
nameservers from /etc/resolv.conf and allow me to easily specify the IP
addresses of remote machines that I want to connect to for certain
services.

After all the ipchains commands have run, the last line of the script
saves the settings:

  service ipchains save

That saves the settings in /etc/sysconfig/ipchains in an abbreviated
format which is a pain to maintain. So when I need to make changes, I
edit and run my script.
