Just want to ask probably a very basic question: I have been using and upgrading rpm packages, now I want to know how to upgrade a source package and not rpm, for instance a Wine installation which was installed from source. Do I have to 'make uninstall' and 'make clean' first before installing the new package? Or can I perform normal installation from source (i.e. ./configure, etc etc) straightaway?
