      My suggestion is use cdrecord which is simpler and more resourcful.     
 cdrecord has a "-multi" multi session option.  thinking u have not read cdrecord man 
page
pls read cdrecord for more details.

u can check out "CDRW" using
   # cdrecord -scanbus
