A better question might be, "Where can I get a good price on IDE drives?" ;-) But you can try running badblocks on it for confirmation. Once you know exactly what range of sectors is damaged, you can usually create your partitions around it (leaving a few extra for a margin of safety) and continue to use the disk for quite a while. I do this for old service laptops. - -d - -- David Talkington PGP key: http://www.prairienet.org/~dtalk/0xCA4C11AD.pgp -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.5.8 Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.75-6 iQA/AwUBPPVGOr9BpdPKTBGtEQJ0jwCgoiDHj1GIoUGc8ZxyBsqwjeLc8Z8AnRHP uKhwqmcTkN8jzU9yKGqLH6QX =dPrA -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
