You can investigate the RAID options in linux. Find the software RAID
howto from linuxdoc, and you'll find instructions on combining 2 hard
disks with RAID0 to make one larger virtual disk.

However, that is overly complex, when in fact, you can solve your problem
simply by keeping some of your data on the second hard disk, for example
data that does not need to be in your home directory, like MP3 files,
or pictures.
