Is it just me, or is there a lot of extraneous 'stuff' in the default
profiles during setup? I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination,
but it seems like there is a lot of extras loaded up even when you
select the 'Server' profile, and just want to do some simple stuff like
have a LAN server. I won't argue about the various perl/python/apache
i.e. server stuff for scripting etc., but a lot of other crap like
touchpad, for instance. Who normally selects a Server profile, and then
wants software for working w/ a laptop touchpad. Similarly vpnd. Nice,
but probably a very small portion of the people who actually set up a RH
box actually want much less need a VPN. And then all the r* stuff gets
loaded up, and a whole batch of user apps, like the server is going to
be used interactively from the console on a daily basis. Am I not
seeing things right, or is this kinda goofy? Yeah, I know. Select the
'Custom' profile and select single packages, or make my own kickstart
file. I've done the former, and contemplated the latter (beyond my
current limited capabilities). Seems like I'm always short one little
file or something, and at a loss of how to figure out what exact package
I need to install to scratch an itch.

Just curious if I'm the only one out here who sees things this way.

Thanks,

Monte
