Make sure you have the appropriate extensions installed for iso9660 (part of the kernel).
iso9660 uses 8.3 format. The MS Joliet and Rockridge extensions are a couple things you'll prolly want to have loaded, or else you won't be seeing anything other than 8.3. Remember, the way the file names appear on a written CD depend on what the OS supports (I'm not sure how much of it depends on how it was written).
