-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I read this somewhere recently (here?) and tried it with good results.
If you add "galeon --server" to your session startup (Foot -> Settings -> Session -> Session Properties & Startup Programs) Galeon will load and start a server process. Then when you launch Galeon, it will load much faster since it really only needs to connect to the running process and open a window. You'll need to kill Galeon using "galeon --quit" when ending your GNOME session. Otherwise you'll get the Galeon crash dialog the next time you login. I did this by replacing the standard GNOME logout button on my panel with a launcher that runs "galeon --quit ; save-session --kill". The standard icon is /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-term-night.png. GNOME startup time does not seem to be significantly affected and my browser launches a lot faster. Tony - -- Anthony E.
