hello!
on my HDD i have installed win98 after rh 7.2;as a
result the mbr was rewritten.
after a while a tried to mount my linux parition and
got this error:

bad magic number in superblock while trying to open
/dev/hda3.
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a
correct ext2 filesystem. If the device is valid and it
really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs
or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, you
might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock.
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

i ran that e2fsck but got the same error..i changed
that number (put a 8193*n+1 number) and the same thing.

the install program from RedHat 7.2 doesn`t properly
recognize my ext2 partition.
QUESTION: can i copy the superblock from another Linux
box on a diskette and then overwrite it on my HDD? if
so, please someone tell me how i do this, or how i get
my box working again
Thank you!
